Trial, SRP, and Getting Help
Onboarding · Trial
Three things new members ask about once the first few fleets are behind them: what "trial" on their account means, whether the alliance replaces lost ships, and who to talk to when something goes wrong.
Trial
Every new member starts on trial. It lasts about 60 days and it is not a test you study for. It is a period of showing up.
What counts:
- Flying alliance fleets.
- Small-gang and solo faction warfare.
- Being on voice with the rest of us.
Directors track participation, and they move pilots off trial when they have been around and active. There is nothing to apply for.
Some tribes only accept members who are off trial: Capitals, Advocates, Readiness, Loyalty Points, and Fishermen. Many others accept trial members, including mining, PI, freighters, market, technology, and thinkspeak. See The Culture Map.
Ship replacement (SRP)
The alliance would rather you can pay for your own ships than depend on a free-ship fund. The SRP program says so up front: it is funded by vibes, PLEX, and loot, it is not guaranteed, and self-sufficiency is the point. Your First Billion ISK is how you get there.
What SRP covers:
| Losses | Covered |
|---|---|
| Subcapitals | Strategic fleets and skirmishes |
| Capitals | Strategic fleets, plus capped skirmish coverage for carriers and FAX |
| Practice roams, soft forms, kitchen sink in cheap ships | Plan on paying for these yourself |
Before you can file, you acknowledge the program's terms once on the SRP onboarding page. After that, file losses from SRP.
SRP is for doctrine losses. If you want a loss covered, fly the doctrine from the MOTD.
Getting help
| Problem | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Missing Discord roles, auth problems, broken site links | Open a ticket in #help (Alliance Discord) |
| Standings or enlistment look wrong | Open a ticket in #help |
| Trouble with a pilot in a battlefield or other shared site | Open a ticket in #help |
| A people problem: conflict, harassment, a situation in your corp | Your corp leadership, or Internal Affairs |
| Questions about your corp's hangars, titles, or programs | Your corp's own channels |
#help is for things that are broken. Do not put a people problem in a public channel. Take it to your corp leadership or Internal Affairs.
