FAX Guide

Web Edition · YC 128

Overview

The Force Auxiliary Carrier (FAX) is one of the more common capital ships you'll see us use. We only use a few for every fight, so they're not as necessary as dread alts, but they are the true end-game gameplay for logistics pilots.

It is the most fun and mechanic-intensive capital to fly. Hands down. Once you enter triage, you are immobile and pump out enormous repairs onto friendlies.

They are often the first thing dropped in an escalation chain.

Guidance

There isn't really a "meta" for faxes like there is for dreadnoughts. Since there are only 4 of them, there's no tier list, and they're often all used based on the situation.

HullNotes
Apostle Apostle Recommended. Buffer armor fax, often in pairs.
Ninazu Ninazu Active armor fax, can also repair shield. Cheap escalation bait.
Lif Lif Active shield fax, can also repair armor. Cheap. Extremely good against neutralizers.
Minokawa Minokawa Buffer shield fax, often in pairs.

In Minmatar Fleet, we recommend pilots start with the Apostle. It is our primary buffer armor fax. Train a Ninazu next if you want a cheaper active hull for starting escalations — it can also repair shield. The Lif is useful against heavy neut pressure and cross-trains into a Nidhoggur.

Tribe

Force auxiliaries are part of the Capitals tribe in Minmatar Fleet. As much as we'd love to teach triage through a bulleted list, it's best to just join that and talk to people — start with the Faxes group.
